ABOUT PECULIAR PLUTO

Hi,

I’m JoJo. I’m Passionate about sewing and crafting, I'm twenty years old and live in the southwest of the UK. My mum taught me how to sew when I was eight and to be honest I haven't stopped since! My first big project was a gorgeous lilac dress (which mum helped me sew), and from there I proceeded to continue my sewing journey both at home and throughout education. I took GCSE textiles at Huish Episcopi Academy, where I created corsets and tutus (I love ballet, and have been dancing since I was 3). In year 11 I passed with flying colours and went on to study a Level Three Diploma in Art and Design at Strode College. I got to study art in all forms but remained primarily drawn to textile based work. Unfortunately I never got to finish the course, my mental health got in the way and I felt it best to take a break. After a year away from creating and taking some time to recover, I came back enjoying sewing more than ever and ready to launch my own brand.

Since starting Peculiar Pluto I have grown so much as a person. I have rediscovered my passion for sustainable creativity and am even contemplating studying a textile degree within the next couple of years. Doing something I love so much has grown my confidence and greatly improved my mental health. I have always dreamed of having my own shop and it wouldn't have been possible without your support - Thank You!
